Distance education and the use of technology in the classroom has become a regular part of higher education and one that is constantly evolving. As a result, unions need to continually attend to the impact of these changes in their collective bargaining agreements and institutional policies.
Both the New York State United Teachers Community College Distance Education Committee and the California Community College Association have developed guidelines for local unions that are working on these issues. This session will discuss how those guidelines were developed and review key areas related to distance education and technology that local unions should be monitoring. |
