Think Link - Tracking Debatable Arguments Across the Web

This was posted to the TechRhet listserv by Alice J. Robinson (copied verbatim from her email):

A friend just sent me this interesting tool for discussion and debate across the web. It seems to be a computational model similar to the way Wikipedia authors and community members discuss claim-worthiness.

From their web page: *"Think Link is a tool that helps users know when information they read on the web is disputed. As a user browses the web, Think Link highlights snippets of text that make claims that users have identified as contentious. If a user clicks on a highlighted snippet, Think Link displays an argument graph showing the best evidence for and against the claim the snippet is making."*

This came from the "*Confrontational Computing" *group at Intel (which i think is a pretty awesome name). From their webpage - *"Much of the information on the web consists of opinions, arguments, and beliefs. Examples include news articles, blog posts, message boards, and wikis. The Confrontational Computing project aims to understand how people argue on the web, and to develop tools that make it easier for people to do so."*
